  1. Hi Rie and Kotono, Those are good Questions.
*"University" In America usually is associated only with academics. Obv. alot of socializing happens. But when someone says the word "University", most americans think of the actual school buildings.

*In America, It depends on specific situations. Usually its a mix between student loans and some parents helping students. Sometimes their is government fiancial aid involved.

*In America, there is alot of club activities. Like sports, politics and hobby clubs.

*If your are a friendly person you approach transfer students and help them get to know the school and attempt to become friends.

*I Usually hang out with my roomates, girlfriend, or other close friends from my hometown when at College.

*To take a class here, we have sesmester schudule and go classroom-to-classroom Monday through Fridays at specific times. We take alot of notes and Tests.

*Our University is a semester system of Starting Fall Semester Starting September 1st and Spring Semester in Late Janurary.

*Students failing and passing depends totally on the students determination to get a good grade. Missing alot of classes and failing papers usually will make you fail a class in America.

  2. 1. Americans associate the word "University" with school and the types of classes offered.

    2. In America, the school expenses are paid by our parents or some students receive scholarships or money awarded to them for good grades in school or being good at a sport.

    3. There are plenty of clubs offered at American schools ranging from sports to government and certain hobbies.

    4. If your a friendly person you would approach the new student and introduce yourself and talk about school or what you have in common.

    5. Here at college, I am usually hanging out with my close friends, and kids from my ice hockey team.

    6. To take a class here, we have schedule which is spread out throughout the week. We have classes Monday-Friday. Some students choose to only go to classes on specific days of the week.

    7. Our school has two semesters. One semester starts in September and the next semester starts in January.

    8. Students who fail classes here, usually do not put much effort into their school work or they have trouble with the material. Students who pass classes here depends on how much effort you choose to put into your studies.

  5. When I think of university, I think of college. It is a place to get an education and make a lot of friends. Academics always come first, but it also creates a good social life.

I pay for college myself, but my father has also helped me with the expenses.

There are lots of clubs, sports, music, dancing-pretty much anything someone can be interested in we have.

I never transfered schools, but I can only imagine how hard it would be. I am an orientation leader at my school, so it is my job to get transfer students the information they need for their classes, and student IDs and things like that. I will usualyl continue to talk to transfer students throughout the year and will help them with any questions they have.

I spend a lot of my time with my friends. I woud say I spend most of my time with my roomates.

We are on a semester system. Fall semester goes from september to dec, and spring semester goes from january to may

  6. What dose the word "university" remind you?

University is a place where you go to school and are able to continue your education. It is also a place where you get to live away from home, get to learn what you want, learn to become an adult, and have a lot of fun before you have to go work.

    * Who pays the school expenses?

It depends for each family. For me, my parents and I both pay together.

    * Are there the club activities in your country?

There are lots of clubs at our school. We have a club for everything you can imagine from art to sports to what your are studying at school.

    * How do you contact If a transfer student comes to your class? In addition, how do you make friends with the transfer student?

I usually would treat transfer students the same as other students. I try to be nice to everyone and would make friends with them the same as anyone else by just saying hi and being nice.

    * Do you always spend with same friends in university?

I have my group of friends and we usually all hang out together. I sometimes spend time with other people but usually just my same friends.

    * How do you take the class

I usually pay attention in class and try to take notes. I never sleep. But sometimes I talk with friends and do not pay attention to the professor if I am not interested.

    * Is your university semester system?

We have two semester, one starts in the fall in September, and once after the new year has begun in January.

    * When dose your university start new class?

In September and January, same as semester.

    * How many students do they fail to pass on to the next grade?

Usually everyone passes on. If you fail a class sometimes you do not have enough credits to go to the next year but you can take more classes and catch up. Some people do fail a lot of classes and leave school.

I hope my answers helped you!

  10. * What dose the word "university" remind you?
    - To me the word "university" means an institute of higher education, or somewhere you go for further schooling after grade school.

    * Who pays the school expenses?
    - Paying for school varies from one family to another. In my family my parents and I both pay for my education.

    * Are there the club activities in your country?
-At our school, there are lots of different activities for the students to do, including sports, theater, and academic clubs.

    * How do you contact If a transfer student comes to your class? In addition, how do you make friends with the transfer student?

  11. *When you decided to go to college,
how did you choose your college?
    (ex:attractive point, decisive reason …etc)

I chose my college because it was a small school. I wanted small classes and a small campus. It is a public college so it is less money than other colleges and that made me choose my college too.

*Why did you decide go to college after graduating high school?

Most people go to college now right after high school. I want to get a good job and to do that you have to go to college now.

*How long did you study for examination to enter the university?
*In addition, what kind of examination did you take by the examination for university?

The exam we have to take is called the SAT. It used to stand for Scholastic Assesement Test but now it is just called SAT and really doesn't stand for anything. There is a math section, a reading/English section, and a writing section. Most students take this test to get into college. The university didn't have any other test, just an application.

*In your country, when you decided to borrow scholarship, is there any condition?
(The income restrictions of the family etc…)

There are lots of conditions with scholarships and loans. Scholarship is money you get for free and do not have to pay back. A loan is money you receive but you have to pay back when you have the money. I have to take out loans in order to go to school but I get scholarships too. Because my parents both make money, I do not get a lot of money from the state but some students who do not have a lot of money get money from the school and the state.

  12. "University"
In America means academics and school. While a lot of socializing does occur at school, most tend to think of it as just academics.

*In America, most students have a few loans taken out and sometimes parents will help out. In my case my parents helped a great deal with a few loans in my name

*In America, there are so many choices for activities. There are club sports, and other different clubs to join and interact with other.

*I am a very outgoing person and this is my 2nd year at this school. I am a transfer student still adjusting to the school, I was able to make friends easily by reaching out and others befriended me at the same time. Just having an open mind helps a lot.

*When I lived on campus I spent time with my roomate and other friends on campus but now that I am a commuter I find it a bit more diffiicult. I do not have a roommate to hang out but I do still talk and hang out with my other friends from last semester etc.

*In order to take a class, they fall Mon-Friday. I just took a lot of notes, paid attentions, and asked many questions.

*Our University is a semester system of Starting Fall Semester Starting September 1st and Spring Semester in Late Janurary.

*Students fail or passing is based on their determination. If you find out you are failing a class it's up to you to pass. In high school my teachers would hunt down student in order to get them to pass but in college, no one holds your hand anymore. You're on your own.
